The Good That Follows Foundation • Board Governance & Organizational Policies
==================================================
1. GIFT ACCEPTANCE & DONOR RESTRICTIONS POLICY
==================================================
Transparent Handling of In-Kind & Equipment Contributions
The Good That Follows Foundation accepts donations of new, overstock, and gently used equipment that support our mission of powering veteran recreation and peer connection.
Key Guidelines:
• Description & Quantity Logging: The Foundation maintains detailed records of all accepted noncash gifts, including item descriptions, quantities, and date received.
• Tax Valuations: In accordance with federal tax guidelines, corporate donors and individual contributors are responsible for determining the tax valuation of noncash contributions. The Foundation provides formal written acknowledgments for accepted gifts but does not assign dollar values to donated items.
• Quality & Safety: To protect participant safety and dignity, we accept gear that is in safe, working condition and reserve the right to decline unsafe, recalled, or mission-inconsistent items.
==================================================
2. PRIVACY & DATA SECURITY POLICY
==================================================
Protecting Veteran, Applicant, and Donor Information
We are committed to maintaining strict confidentiality and data security across all Foundation programs and intake workflows.
Key Safeguards:
• Data Minimization: We collect only the essential information needed to evaluate assistance requests and coordinate gear distribution. Sensitive personal identifiers are never requested through unencrypted email.
• Confidentiality & Storage: Applicant information is restricted to authorized Foundation reviewers and stored in secure, password-protected organizational repositories.
• Consent & Publicity: The Foundation will never publish a veteran recipient's name, photo, personal story, or identifying details in public communications, social media, or marketing materials without explicit, written permission. Declining publicity has zero impact on eligibility for assistance.
==================================================
3. ASSISTANCE REQUESTS & AWARD DECISIONS POLICY
==================================================
Fair, Consistent, and Board-Approved Program Administration
All equipment distributions, event invitations, and specialty item grants (including tactical timepieces and commemorative coins) are administered under objective, board-approved selection criteria to serve an open charitable class of veterans fairly and equitably.
